Amazing sites in Mallorca
Platja d'Alcúdia is situated at three kilometres from the centre of the village that gives the name to it, between Platja de Muro, on the south, and Xara, on the north, a small beach next to the marina Alcudiamar. It is the stretch of the bay of Alcúdia next to the villages Lago Esperanza and Playas de Alcudia.
This very long fine-grained sandy area has gentle slope and along the coastline you will see some breakwaters and jetties for the touristic passenger launches, as well as numerous channels that come from the lakes at the rear of the coast. Nevertheless, Alcúdia is also known as “City of the lakes”. The seaweed ground make this coast a bad place for anchoring boats. Platja d'Alcúdia is one of the biggest residential and touristic areas of Majorca. The activity of these touristic buildings take place on the coastline of this sandy area.
The accessibility by car is easy following the signs. The private car can be left on a free parking area next to this enormous coastal stretch or in the streets of the surroundings. You can also reach this beach with the public transport.

Platja del Port de Pollença
Platja del Port de Pollença or de Levante is situated at six kilometres from Pollença, between Platja de Can Cullerassa and Port de Pollença. Although there is a high development, touristic aswell as residential, it has still the quiet atmosphere it used to have in the past, which explains that this coastal stretch has been an artistic inspiration.
Agatha Christie set her short story Problem in Pollença in this place and the catalan painter Anglada Camarassa lived in the port. This extremely long sandy area which is very narrow at the same time has suffered a regeneration and an artificial expansion with the introduction of coarse-grained sand. Some years ago there was no beach and no sand. The creation has been possible thanks to the breakwater that was built. At a few metres from the coastal stretch of the bay of Pollença there are some pine trees.
The marine and underwater conditions in this bay are not the best ones for anchoring boats, because there is a maximum depth of two metres at a small distance from the coast on a sandy ground, and the strong wind blows from the east- southeast-south. Nevertheless during the summer there are lots of sailing boats anchoring in this area.
The accessibility by car is easy following the signs. The private car can be left on a free parking area. You can also reach this beach with the public transport. The nearest bus stop is located at a few metres from this beach.
These characteristics explain that the beach is very crowded by local visitors and tourists.
